My name is Acel Clemente and I'm an ESL teacher from Canada. I've been with EF for a year and a half and things are still going great! Last year when I first wrote for this column, I had only been here for six months but I knew that I would be staying for a second year. I'd already had the opportunity to teach a variety of classes including conversation and business, which was new for me, and I was working on developing my young learners classes. I was also involved in extra curricular activities. Overall, for a first year teacher, I was surprised at how much I was learning and just how fast time was going! I had been to a couple tourist destinations (Bali, lots of times!) then, but I knew that there were so many more places I had to see. Needless to say, with all the opportunities ahead and the now familiar comfort of the Surabaya lifestyle, deciding to stay for another year was an easy decision. Now, with the persistent support of my fellow teachers and administrators, I continue to develop in teaching and my new academic responsibilities. The students are as wonderful as ever and I am grateful for every opportunity I've had to work with them. If you're looking to enhance your experience in ELT, meet lots of wonderful people and travel South Asia, join us!
